So the accident was not your fault. You were the driver of the vehicle that was not at fault or a passenger in any vehicle involved in an accident. What do you do now? If your motor vehicle accident happened on public property, you should always request a police investigation so that a report can be prepared and you will have all the information about how the accident happened and all parties and insurance companies involved in the accident. If the accident occurred on private property, usually the local police department will not investigate the incident. In that instance, try to get statements and information from not only the parties involved, but also any witnesses that may have seen the accident. Next, seek medical attention as soon as possible. Typically an emergency room visit or Police Car 2urgent care visit on the date of the accident provides good evidence that you were injured in the accident. Now you need to preserve your rights to recover damages for your injuries. Self-help almost always results in high stress and poor results. An insurance company’s goal is minimize your recovery of damages, not to make you whole. Your best choice is to hire a lawyer as soon as possible. Don’t talk to any insurance company representative before talking to a lawyer, and particularly don’t give a statement without your lawyer being present.

Our firm has more than thirty (30) years experience in handling personal injury claims and representing victims to successful recoveries. You will be put at ease at the initial interview and on your first visit you will talk directly with a lawyer. We will take over management of the case and coordinate property damage recovery and future medical services. You will be given a detailed explanation of how your lawyer will handle your personal injury claim, what to expect, how the claim is evaluated and how the claim is resolved. Any questions 5th Cir (2)you have will be answered in detail and you will be given a personal cell phone number to contact your lawyer with any questions you have about your claim . When you have finished medical treatment, your attorney will submit your claim to the insurance company to be resolved. You will be kept informed of settlement negotiations as they progress and you will be given recommendations on bringing the matter to a final resolve. There will be no guesswork, you will know what you will receive before you agree to a final settlement. Although most cases settle without the need to file suit, it may be necessary to file suit to preserve your right to recover. Just filing suit doesn’t mean that you will have to go to court, in fact it has been our experience that 98% of our cases settle without the need to go to trial. However, we are experienced trial attorneys and we will make the process as painless and hassle free as possible.

We have been providing legal services to personal injury claimants for over thirty (30) 4th Ciryears with the majority of our clients coming as referrals from other clients. Our goal is to not only bring your claim to a successful resolve but to keep you satisfied and be considered your attorneys for life. One of the standards for evaluating law firms is through Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. These ratings are based on the opinions of other attorneys and our rating is AV, the highest possible rating available. We are here to help you and are proud to do so in a caring and professional manner.
