UPDATE:  The flyer Domino’s initially put out indicated that the fundraiser would be for the Northshore.  Due to the overwhelming number of calls they have received from FOP members and members of the public, Domino’s has included the Southshore stores as well.

Sounds like a great time for a pizza party, or at the very least a good excuse not to cook dinner.  Make sure to mention code DN1 or Oscar or Kara Ortiz’s name at the time you place the order.  Let’s make sure that Domino’s Pizza and everyone else knows that we support our Brothers, Sisters, and their families.  My kids are stuck on cheese pizza, so I know I will need more than one — maybe the Wisconsin 6 Cheese pizza and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza.  I’m getting hungry already.

Oscar Ortiz is a veteran member of the New Orleans Police Department and member of the Crescent City Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.  Oscar’s wife, Kara was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago.  Oscar has soldiered on in spite of difficulties caused by the implementation of OPSE and the impact that had on his detail income for the sake of his beloved wife and children.

Oscar is not the type of person to ask for financial assistance.  However, it is my  understanding that through a a series of events directed by fate, Domino’s Pizza will be conducting a fundraiser for Kara Ortiz on Monday, November 2, 2015 for all of the Northshore area.

November 2, 2015 seems like a good night for pizza.  When ordering, use the code DN1 and 20% of all proceeds will go to Kara Ortiz to help with her medical expenses.  In addition, if you use code B937, Domino’s will throw in a free order of Cinnistix.

Click here to see Domino’s flyer, which includes their contact information for any questions or concerns.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to help our brother, Oscar, and his wife, Kara.
