  1. As active law enforcement during this pandemic, we were/are required to answer calls regarding family disputes with sometimes 10-15 people present, handle reports of deaths when the person was Corona positive, and if necessary, go hands on to arrest perpetrators. All of these actions put us at a significantly higher risk of contracting the virus and possibly passing it to our families.

  2. With this emergency that the police department is working under. I believe that the police officers should be getting emergency pay as again we are under a state of emergency.

  3. As a police officer I worked through this pandemic daily and in doing so I myself encountered numerous citizens, one specific family who actually had previously received a positive Covid test. My fears were always that I would bring this virus to my household where I myself have a sick child and spouse who were prone to contracting this virus. I agree that all officers should receive the emergency pay.

  4. Police, Fire, and EMS have been on the front lines of this pandemic since day one. They have not had the opportunity to work from home, take vacations, or stay inside because their functions have been critical throughout this pandemic. To say they do not deserve hazard pay when the President of the United States, the Governor of the State of Louisiana, and the Mayor of the City of New Orleans have ALL declared states of emergency and have made restrictions impacting everyday life is a slap in the face to all the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep their community safe. Those persons who have continuously worked through this pandemic deserve to be compensated for the hazardous dangers they have placed themselves in daily in addition to their normal compensation.

  5. With this emergency that the police department is working under. I believe that the police officers should be getting emergency pay as again we are under a state of emergency and allot of us cant even go home to are family or loved ones in fear of spreading the virus…
